Mutton Bustin Registration

MUTTON BUSTIN' RULES YOU NEED TO KNOW

Mutton Bustin’ has become a popular addition to Rodeo Performances and is similar to the Grown-up Cowboy rough stock except that the youngsters will ride SHEEP. Contestants must weigh 55 pounds or less to be eligible. Fifteen contestants compete each night of the rodeo prior to rodeo performance. Winners each night receive and award from Cavendars Boot City.

If your child is selected to ride in the Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 evening Mutton Busting at the Longview PRCA Rodeo
Here is what you need to know.

1. Your child and one parent gets in free on Saturday evening.
2. Please check in no later than 6:45PM. We cannot promise that our staffing will allow us to check in everyone properly any time after this.
3. Only one parent is allowed to accompany the child inside the arena.  You are welcome to bring your phone and record them inside the arena.
4. Children can wear whatever they want as clothing, although it is recommended that they wear pants and closed-toed shoes. We will provide the helmet and chest protector.
5. Please do not block the stands on the end where the mutton busting will be (opposite the bucking chutes) because our sponsors are concentrated in these stands.
6. Come ready to have a good time!
7. If you cannot attend this night, please please please let me know.  we have several children that were not selected and we want to allow them to fill any vacant spots.

We look forward to seeing you and celebrating with you as your children get to experience rodeo!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. This is the busy time, so I may be slow getting back with you but I will respond.

Regards, Donna Sharp, Rodeo Chair
